Sources, walking estimates & a few useful details
Every restaurant’s detail card links to its storefront, menu, or current listing. Transit information comes from MTS; the San Diego Tourism Authority taco tour helped establish the route. Older MTS food lists still contain moved or closed storefronts; this guide uses Las Cuatro Milpas at 1985 National Avenue and Tacos El Gordo at 556 Broadway.
Blocks are approximate neighborhood estimates, not a standard unit of distance. Walks range from roughly 0.1 to 0.7 miles, estimated from mapped pedestrian routes using OpenStreetMap and station/storefront coordinates. Walking minutes assume a steady pace; crossings, platform exits and hills add time. The directions link is the place to check your actual walk. The station guide is a schematic, not a geographic map.
Hours and menus can change. We list published hours where available and link to current information; there is no invented “open now” status. Vegetable options do not imply a dedicated vegetarian kitchen. Selections end at H Street. San Ysidro and border-crossing stops are excluded.
